Vedolizumab in mild to moderate Crohn's Disease Patients Naïve to Biological Therapy: a Multicentric Observational Study

Abstract Background In real-world experience the number of patients using vedolizumab as first-line biological therapy was low. We aimed to evaluate effectiveness and safety Vedolizumab in mild moderate CD biologic naïve patients. Methods performed a retrospective multicentric cohort study with who had clinical activity scores (Harvey-Bradshaw Index [HBI]) measured at baseline weeks 12, 26, 52 well last follow-up. Clinical response defined reduction ≥ 3 HBI whereas remission ≤ 4. Mucosal healing complete absence ulcers control colonoscopies. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis used assess persistence vedolizumab. Results From total 66 patients, 53% (35/66) reached week 12. This percentage increased 69.7% (46/66) 78.8% (52/66) 52. achieved 62.3% (33/53) well-tolerated most adverse events were minor. During treatment, 3/66 underwent surgery. Conclusions demonstrates agent CD.
